Conferencia: “European Smart Specialisation Platform on Agri-Food”
The Thematic Smart Specialisation Platform on Agri-Food (S3P Agri-Food) is an instrument to advance the implementation of RIS3. It develops synergies among investment instruments. It does so by mobilising and aligning regions that have similar and related S3 priorities, and focussing on new European value chains for upscaling the regional efforts and accelerating the commercialisation of innovations and the economic transformation of the regions. The thematic platforms are new ways to connect regional authorities and regional innovation actors at European level and build on the self-organisation dynamics of bottom-up interregional cooperation.
An open Call for Expression of Interest is collecting the explicit interest of candidate lead-regions and those interested in cooperation in developing partnerships in specific areas. These expressions of interest are the first step in a process that will lead to concrete co-investment projects.
S3P Agri-Food has been developed as a joint initiative of DG Regio, DG JRC, DG Agri and DG RTD and of committed regions.
